Consistency
Consistency of performance is essential. You don't have to be exceptional every week but as a minimum you need to be at a level that even on a bad day you get points on the board. - Sean Dyche
Being human many times we falter and ask ourselves whether what we are doing is really worth it. There are times that it might not necessarily make lots of sense for us but for as long as we are grounded on why we are doing what we need to do we shall for sure keep pushing.
When you think about a person that has made it big on anything, the baseline has been waking up and doing the work that pushes them closer to their goals daily. Some days they make big strides and some days they crawl but the key is that they are constantly moving.
Being consistent does not mean doing the same thing the same way all the time. It means looking at the goal and continually pushing to be better as we move towards achieving it. In everything we do, remaining flexible and pragmatic is key. Look for new information that will refine both your goals and the way to achieve it.
If consistency is that important, what can we do to increase our chances of working at it:
1. Understand your WHY: Once we know why we are doing something, this propels us to be better people;
2.Get the right people: Anything worth doing is done with the right people surround yourself with the people who will help you actualize your why;
3.Create good habits: To make it easy for us to achieve our goals creating supporting habits goes a long way. They help us not think through every task as something to be concurred but more like part of our daily life;
4.Be kind to yourself: At times we shall exceed our expectations- celebrate other times we shall be not so motivated – get time to rest. Whatever season we are going through understand it and make the best use of it.
