“Every new season of your life will be an opportunity for you to learn and grow. Don’t celebrate the good without celebrating the bad because they both work together to prepare you for the next season of your life.” – Theresa Lewis

When we listen there are many challenges that are facing people and the nations at large. Well from the Corona pandemic to the Ukraine war and now we are all about elections for those of us in Kenya. It just seems that we are not seeing an end to it all. But as it is said for every bad situation there are people who benefit from it. The aim is to always ask yourself what is it that you can do today to position yourself for the next phase of life.

Below are some of my suggested things we can do:

i. Accept what you are going through and work on it: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”- Reinhold Niebuhr

ii. Surround yourself with the right people: “Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher”- Oprah Winfrey

iii. Do the work: “Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work in hand. The sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus. “ Alexander Graham Bell since “When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” Paulo Coelho

iv. Celebrate and win: Don't try to rush progress. Remember - a step forward, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction. Keep believing. Kara Goucher

In summary “ Every season is one of becoming, but not always one of blooming. Be gracious with your ever-evolving self.” - B. Oakman.
