When we were young we constantly tried to discover the world around us. It is in the trying that shaped the people who we became. There is no final destination to growth and that is why we are constantly learning. There are different things then that end up shaping the people that we are and just like the leadership theory on whether one is born a leader or taught to be a leader the outcome of whom we become is shaped by both traits borne and also the environment that we find ourselves in. It is unfortunate that we have no control over this very important factors but the good news is you can decide to work and shape the direction of where they take you and who you end up becoming. The big question then becomes how can one change the course of their life and below are some of the key things you can work on:
1. Curiosity: the desire to know more is of key growth importance. “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” Albert Einstein and Curiosity is the engine of achievement.” Ken Robinson
2. Attitude: work on your attitude because “Attitude determines the altitude of life. Edwin Louis Cole and “Your attitude is more important than your capabilities. Similarly, your decision is more important than your capabilities”. Jack Ma
3. People: Surround yourself with the right people. “You will hardly find wrong people at right places. Choose to be at the right places and you will find the right people who will inspire you to make it happen!” Israelmore Ayivor, “The right people will fire you up not burn you out.” Christine E. Szymanski
Lets always take time to reflect and make the very best of the person we want to be. The way to do this is to ensure we that we are looking at living a more balanced life. "In all aspects of our lives balance is key. Doing one thing too much can cause upset, like the old saying goes, everything in moderation is the secret!" Catherine Pulsifer
